West Ham United produced a clinical, dominant performance to run out comfortable 5–0 winners away at Stevenage in their second pre-season friendly of the summer. It was a professional display from Nuno Espírito Santo's side — ruthless in attack, solid at the back, and featuring a mix of senior stars and exciting academy talent.
⏱️ First Half
The Hammers made a flying start and were ahead inside 13 minutes. A flowing team move carved open the Stevenage defence — James Ward-Prowse collected the ball in a central position, saw his initial effort blocked, but followed up to fire the rebound home.
It was 2–0 just 12 minutes later, on 25 minutes. Maxwel Kilman won the ball in his own half, played it forward to captain Jarrod Bowen, who turned and played a perfect through ball into the path of Taty Castellanos. The striker latched onto it and slotted coolly past the onrushing keeper to double the lead.
Stevenage saw plenty of possession but struggled to create clear chances against a well-drilled West Ham backline. The visitors took a commanding two-goal advantage into the break.

⏱️ Second Half
Nuno made wholesale changes at half-time, but the pattern of the game didn't shift — West Ham remained in total control. The third goal arrived on 68 minutes when academy graduate Lewis Orford cut inside and curled a fine finish into the far corner from the edge of the box.
It became 4–0 on 77 minutes — Kaelan Casey sent a volley back into the mix and Josh Ajala diverted it home from close range.
And the rout was completed right at the death, in the 90th minute. Good work down the left saw the ball whipped into the box, and summer signing Jett Murphy was there to tap home his first goal for the club — a perfect moment to cap the night
